Training Philosophy

Our training is based on operant-conditioning theory. We create a positive learning environment for our dogs through the primary use of reward-based training. Just as we individualize instruction for each of our clients, we support each dog’s learning by adapting our training style and instruction based on the dog’s temperament. We believe in building good communication with our dogs through establishing and maintaining clear expectations. As a result, our dogs are motivated and willing to learn!

We recognize the importance of the strong connection between each Partnering Paws team, which is why we individually match each assistance dog to their partner based on the person’s lifestyle and personal needs.
